While my bio states that I am a recovering Politico, I occasionally find myself curious about current events. (Don’t worry, I’m still working my 12-steps.) A friend sent this to me, and it is absolutely brilliant.
A quick history lesson...
In early America, a Whig was a nickname for supporters of the American Revolution. There was also a short-lived (1834-1856) Whig political party which was formed to oppose the policies of Democrat President Andrew Jackson. When the Whigs folded, their voter base defected to the Republican Party, which then elected Abraham Lincoln (himself a former Whig organizer.) All this to say, the shirt is hilarious.
(h/t to Wikipedia and my previous degree for the Whig info.)
If you want your own shirt, you can purchase one here.
Don’t worry, Part 2 of Community College Math is still coming. I’m refining its brilliance.
