Long. Long. Nights

Recently, there have been some loooooong nights. Of course, these generally follow a night or two that is RIDICULOUS. Those people who are thinking about cloning people...nurses might be interested. I have yet to figure out how to be in 2 places at once, and I don't think it has anything to do with my mad time management skilz.

Anyway, my ridiculous night was actually fun cause the crazy level was at a minimum, and the patients were pretty sick so I got to use some real life critical thinking. Always fun. Especially since I feel like half of my time is acting as a highly skilled waitress, maid and/or personal aide. Interestingly, my previous life prepared me perfectly for this.

Nonetheless, I like it when it's a little more steady and I don't have to rack my brain thinking of ways to kill a few hours while my patients are sleeping (heath promoting sleep, I might add.) I mean there are nights where I have read 90% of the articles on ESPN.com, (If only all of this reading would pay off with my fantasy football team...) all the blogs on the blog rolls for several different people--most of whom I don't know, but if I did we could totally be friends, brainstormed several new blog posts (I've noticed these don't always pan out. What seems like a good idea at 3 in the middle of the night 30 isn't always funny when I'm ready to post. Or it's hilarious...no real middle ground here. Well, in my mind they are hilarious,) and done some on-line shopping/dreaming. Know what? I'm going to plan my next 3 dream vacations soon.

Don't worry I still find time to squeeze in the scheduled patient care and get everything done that the day shift didn't have time to do. You know, cause I'm such a little overachiever and such.

Note to self: keep a book in your locker for future nights such as these. (Oh, hey! I finally did. Check it out. It’s fascinating.)

**You like how random this post is? That's because I wrote it at 3 in the middle of the night 30. J
